INQUISICION are a Chilean band with their roots firmly planted in the 80´s Heavy Metal sound. They were formed in ´93 by Manolo Schafler (TORTURER) and Carlos Hernández under the name of SANTA INQUISICION. As a three piece (they had a temporary bass player) they played some shows before hooking up with vocalist Freddy Alexis (PANZER) in 94. Also around that time Manolo left TORTURER to concentrate fully on (SANTA) INQUISICION. In 95 the band shortened the name as well as started working on the four song demo tape (which was released later that year).
The line up was rounded out in the beginning of 96 with bassplayer Cristian Maturana (PSIKIS) and they signed to Deifer Records and released their debut, "Steel Vengeance" in 97. Things with Deifer didn´t work out so they left them and eventually signed to Miskatonic Music. In between the first and second albums, Toxic Records released the "In Nomini" compilation. Since then they have released a live album in 2001 and are currently working on their third full length.
